I apply to you as the 2nd Chair of Foto-Club Koblenz.
With sadness we received your information that Alan Taylor died last Wednesday. The members of Foto-Club Koblenz express their sincere sympathy to NDPS.
Alan and some of his friends rendered outstanding services to the friendship of our two clubs since 1989 and he became an honory member of FCKO. For us he was an important connecting link, contributing to the exchange and developement of photography between Norwich and Koblenz. So we were able to get to know common and different perceptions of taking pictures of landscapes and architecture. One highlight certainly was the exhibition of the river Rhine that was held as well in Koblenz as in Norwich. Alan also helped us manage our contribution to your „Annual Exhibition“.
We were very happy that – at his age of 91 years – he succeeded in visiting Koblenz and the surrounding area in September 2015 with the Norwich-Koblenz friendship committee. It was the last time that he met his close German friends and he really enjoyed everything. I met Alan four times – twice in Norwich – and he will remain in my heart and memory as a very charming, intelligent and sincere friend.
May I ask you a favour: When the funural takes place on the 13th of May, could you please dedicate some moments of time to transmit greetings to Alan´s grave from Foto-Club Koblenz?
