Alan´s Nachruf

As you will know today was Alan’s funeral, it was of course a very sad occasion but also a celebration of the life of a remarkable man.

I just wanted to say that Mike Trendell read out the e-mail you sent on hearing the news of Alan’s death – it was a lovely message and very much appreciated by everyone.

I’m sure all the members of FotoClub Koblenz were very sad to hear of his passing – he did so much to keep the connection between NDPS and your club. I really hope that someone else form NDPS will keep up the contact with you.

If you are ever passing through Norwich again it would be a pleasure to meet up again. I will certainly let you know if we come through Koblenz. Andy and I are having a few days in Berlin in July, but that’s quite a long way from Koblenz!

Hello Helmut

The Norwich & DPS Annual Exhibition this year will be held in the Hostry at Norwich Cathedral from Tuesday 19th to Saturday 30th July. This year the exhibition will be dedicated to the late Alan Taylor. We will display some information about him and some of his photographs.

I am writing to invite Foto-club Koblenz to send 8 prints for display at this exhibition. I do not know how you normally do this.

The prints will be exhibited mounted on card measuring 40 x 50 centimetres. If you want to send unmounted prints, then I will arrange for them to be mounted on card. If you want to send your photographs by email I will arrange for them to be printed and mounted on card. Please send them to my address (69 Caernarvon Road, NORWICH, NR2 3HY, UK) or, for digital files, to my email. It would be helpful if you could send them to reach us by 1 July, or a week earlier if you send digital images that I will need to print.

This is our 100th exhibition and it will be a little different from usual. We will not have any judging, and no trophies will be awarded. It is a celebration of our 100 exhibitions. So unless you object, for this year only, your prints will not be judged and no winner will be chosen. Also for this year, the Koblenz Trophy which Foto-club Koblenz kindly gave us will not be awarded.
